This notice covers website visitors, people who enquire or book a call, and businesses we contact first.
What we collect and why
Enquiry form. Your name, business or company name, email, website (optional), what you need help with and your approximate budget (optional). We use these to reply to you, understand what you need and prepare a quote.
Discovery calls. If you book a call, Calendly collects your name, email, the time you chose and any answers you give, and passes them to us. The call itself takes place on Zoom. Both services' privacy policies also apply.
Emails and calls. What you tell us, plus Gabriel's notes so he can follow up properly.
Businesses we contact first. We sometimes look at a business's public website and listings, then send a short email, sometimes with a free concept mock-up of a new homepage. We use the business name, the name and work email of the person we write to, and public information from their website.
Visiting our website. We don't use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking. Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). To send you the fonts, your browser shares your IP address and basic browser details with Google, which may handle them in the US.
Our legal reasons
- Replying to an enquiry from you as an individual or sole trader: taking steps you've asked for before a possible contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Replying when you contact us on behalf of a company, plus calls and notes: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). We have an interest in answering business enquiries and winning work, and you have an interest in getting a useful reply.
- Contacting businesses first: legitimate interests. We have an interest in offering our services to businesses that could benefit from them. We limit this to work contact details and public business information.
- Clients: to carry out our contract with you, and to meet legal duties such as keeping tax records.
- Website fonts: legitimate interests, so that our website displays properly.
We have weighed these interests against your rights. Ask us if you'd like the details.
Do you have to give us your details?
No. But we can't reply to you without an email address. You can leave the optional fields blank.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. These suppliers handle it for us, only on our instructions:
- Website hosting: Netlify
- Enquiry form: Netlify Forms (part of our hosting)
- Email: Google (Gmail)
- Call booking: Calendly; calls take place on Zoom
- Fonts: Google (Google Fonts)
We may also share information with our accountant or professional advisers, or when the law requires it.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our suppliers are based in the US or the EU, or store data there. When they do, we rely on UK "adequacy regulations" (including the UK-US data bridge for certified companies) or on the UK's approved contract clauses. Ask us for details.
Safeguard for each supplier to be confirmed
How long we keep it
- Enquiries, calls and outreach that don't lead to work: 12 months after our last contact, then we delete them.
- If you ask us not to contact you again: we keep just your name, business and email on a do-not-contact list, so we never contact you again.
- Clients: contracts and invoices for 6 years for tax and legal reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your information
- correct it
- delete it
- limit how we use it
- send it to you or to another company in a reusable format (this applies to information we hold under a contract)
Your right to object. When we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time. If you object to marketing, including our outreach emails, we will stop. Just reply "stop" or email us.
Using your rights is free, and we'll respond within one month. We don't make automated decisions about you.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at gabriel.c.180406@gmail.com. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you what we've done.
